True Circle investigates a skill-set.

It’s not magic to teach people a new language or get a builder to wear a tool-belt around their waist to be relied upon when required.

The primary function is to offer a space wrapped around the church to be present, to be felt and to be listened to without fear of judgement or humiliation. Especially for the recovering people in our community.

…Think ‘Samaritansbut face-to-face.

We are particularly keen in this respect although not to be exclusive in supporting male survivors, victims of Christian persecution and workplace bullying.

The second function aims to raise awareness in common places of worship about lived-experiences and ACE’s. By running public speaker events that do not evaluate we work to frame what values by Judeo-Christian principles and ethics inform a new way of practice.

The regular workshops aim to present the following:

A) Effective transformative impact. Perspective and insight forming from victim/survivor from visiting speakers.

B) Intensive vocabulary building that improves quality of thought through equal and giving meaningful attention to survivors who volunteer.

C) Interactive discussions - (no right or wrong!) about noticeable inadequacies and failures to discern appropriate liturgy and/or unhelpful traditions - and what can be done differently.

“Do you want to get well?”

Who’s who

Elly Vanderhyde

Member since 2024. Founder of True Circle.

In my twenties just after becoming a Christian, my support worker and I walked to be introduced to a man at a local city community college, where I received a local offer sponsored level 2 performing arts course. And I don’t know who he was or where he is now - he was tall short haired and wore a shirt and tie. He asked me “What do you want to become?”. I said “Someone that helps people who have transformed their lives through storms to tell their story and that they matter” or something to that effect. He said “A consultant.” I immediately replied “No” in honour of the artist goal - but now I understand he saw something in me from the outside that I didn’t see.

That’s the heart of True Circle and my hope for all the participants.

Vision and mission

  • The Vision to grow and equip the church of christ Jesus

  • The Mission to be in church seeing ordinary people with extraordinary faith proclaiming Jesus to broken families

The sequence

Care + Trust

= transformation

60% of people in the West (UK/USA) have experienced at least one adverse childhood experience (ACE), according to the CDC.

Five of the top 10 leading causes of death are linked to ACEs.

Care is about upholding dignity and intrinsic worth. It provides solutions that prevent harm, relieve suffering, halt deterioration, and support recovery as an act of humanitarian service. It involves nurturing and expanding ‘kingdom altars’—spaces that create innovative and accessible opportunities for mental, physical, and emotional engagement.

TrueCircle equips individuals to recognise, respond to, and intervene during critical life challenges.

Trust is demonstrated through accountability and exemplary conduct, ensuring continuous commitment to professionalism, clear communication, collaboration, inclusivity, ongoing vocational learning, positivity, empathy, and self-care within teams.

TrueCircle encourages leaders to embody the principle that “clarity is kindness.” Leaders are called to be relational, respectful, and resilient communicators who guide others with practical, faith-driven steps, offering encouragement through open and honest dialogue.

Our message of transformation affirms that the Bible holds sole authority within the church and that salvation is found exclusively through Jesus Christ.
